We would like to introduce Dr Algenes Aranha as our onsite Endocrinologist.
He has lived and worked on the Gold Coast since 2015. He completed his FRACP in 2013, in both Diabetes and Endocrinology as well as in General Medicine.
Dr Aranha has worked for the past ten years in Queensland, also in the United Kingdom prior to that.

Deb Singh is our on-site Diabetes Educator, offering sessions at Chesed Medical and Surgical practice. With over 20 years’ experience in nursing, she is passionate in her aim to help improve the lives of people currently diagnosed with Diabetes. She also assists families and carers along with those at risk of developing diabetes in the future. Deb shares the knowledge, skills, motivation, and confidence needed to manage diabetes and make informed decisions about diabetes care and treatment.

Harry is a passionate physiotherapist that engages in a variety of evidence-based approaches to his treatments. He attends to extracurricular studies regularly to ensures that his patients have the choice to choose from the best fitted education and advices, as well as the techniques he had learnt through extra-curricular courses. He has previously worked in the Gold Coast University hospital, Robina hospital and Gold Coast GP Super Clinic, servicing both inpatient physiotherapy care and outpatient clinic based settings, Harry is also involved in the physiotherapy services during the Commonwealth games 2018 as well as providing physiotherapy first aid care for a several local AFL and soccer clubs in the past 8 years that he spent on the Gold Coast.

Our Dietitian service at Chesed Medical and Surgical is provided by Madelin Jeffs from “Way of Life Nutrition”.
Madelin became a Dietitian to pursue her love for both health and food. She graduated from a Bachelor of Nutrition and Dietetics from Queensland University of Technology in 2012 and has been working in private practice ever since. She has completed a certificate in Paediatric Nutrition at the Royal Children’s Hospital Melbourne and has also completed training in Eating Disorders.
Madelin has a special interest in diabetes, heart disease, women’s health (including PCOS & menopause), weight management and gastrointestinal issues. Madelin enjoys helping patients understand the important role food plays in their health, as well as teaching them how to make food healthy and enjoyable. She believes that every patient can achieve positive and effective change with the right help and support.
Rachel is an Accredited Practising Dietitian (APD) with over six years of experience in providing nutrition and dietetic care, four of these years providing services within Gold Coast Health’s chronic disease and post-hospital program. This has resulted in the development of specialised knowledge and skills in the nutritional management of people with chronic diseases, including:
Rachel also currently works in a mental health hospital. Some of her other areas of particular interest/ expertise include the influence of mental health on nutrition, and the management of gastrointestinal issues. In addition to those listed above, clinical areas that she is experienced in include:
Rachel uses a motivational interviewing approach with her clients, assisting them with making long term lifestyle/ behaviour changes to help them reach their own nutrition goals.
She provides on-site, telehealth and home visit consults to meet individual needs, and can provide individualised meal plans.
Bulk billing is available to DVA clients and those with a GP chronic disease plan. Concession rates and private health fund rebates are also available.
